Leal Sylvester 360-241-8026 sylvestertuning@gmail.com

 - Over 20 Years Of Experience -

After graduating in 1997 from the School of Piano Technology for the Blind in Vancouver, WA, Leal served as an instructor and field technician at the school for nine more years before starting his own tuning and repair business.

In the years that followed, his proficiency with tuning and repairing pianos became well known amongst musicians, teachers, technicians, retail stores and music schools all over the Pacific Northwest. For five years he tuned and serviced pianos at Classic Pianos in Portland, OR while also maintaining pianos for many colleges and universities including Clark College and Lewis and Clark College. With a focus on concert grand regulation and fine tuning, he became the technician of choice for many world renowned pianists and performers including the likes of Stevie Wonder.

Leal then spent four years in Dallas, TX at Metroplex Pianos tuning and rebuilding pianos before being asked to come back to the School of Piano Technology for the Blind in 2015 to be their head instructor. A lifelong educator and mentor, it seemed only natural that he found himself back in an educational setting for the next few years, up until the non-profit school closed its doors in 2017, after almost seventy years of teaching blind and visually impaired students to tune and repair pianos.

Leal is now back tuning and servicing pianos all over the Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR areas where he continues to live up to his reputation of a master tuner and technician.

With over 20 years of experience, Leal Sylvester has become one of the most sought after piano technicians and piano technology educators in the Pacific Northwest. Wether it be a customer's home, a music venue, a retail store, or his restoration shop, Leal gives the same presence and precision to each instrument he encounters.
